ESPR — Tyres delegated act

Digital Product Passport for tyres (delegated act under Regulation (EU) 2024/1781)

PLANNEDSchema pending del-act adoptionReg ref: (EU) 2024/1781 + del-act TBD
§01Regulatory overview

Tyres are a first-wave ESPR product group, indicative delegated-act adoption ~2027. Expected to build on the existing EU tyre label (rolling resistance, wet grip, noise — Regulation (EU) 2020/740) and add recycled-rubber content, durability, end-of-life routes.

The existing tyre-label regime is operational and will continue to apply. The DPP is expected to extend, not replace, the tyre label — the EPREL public-product-database entry per tyre will be cross-linked from the DPP.

§05Implementation notes
  • Schema will inherit the existing tyre-label fields (rolling resistance class A–E, wet grip A–E, external noise class A–C, dB(A) value) and add the recycled-rubber content, durability and end-of-life data points specified by the delegated act on adoption.
  • Operators in scope: tyre manufacturers, retreaders, importers, EU authorised representatives.
  • EPREL cross-link: existing EPREL entries will appear as a reference on the passport. The platform's reference-data infrastructure (W19) extends to ingest the EPREL public dataset.
§06Module state

Module state: PLANNED. The Tyres module is not yet available — the relevant ESPR delegated act has not been adopted. The platform tracks the regulatory text via the regulation-monitor agent and the bulletin; the module will switch to BETA on delegated-act adoption.
