EU DPP Registry operational from 20 July 2026

The European Commission's DPP Registry became operational on 20 July 2026, together with a testing environment and user guidelines. Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/1778 of 16 July 2026 (OJ 17.7.2026, in force 6 August 2026) lays down the registry arrangements, and Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/1736 cites the six harmonised DPP standards (EN 18216, 18219, 18220, 18221, 18222, 18223:2026), giving presumption of conformity with ESPR Articles 10 and 11. Nothing became mandatory for economic operators on that date — the battery passport obligation remains 18 February 2027. EU Digital Passport Processor stays in mock-submission mode until we have completed registry onboarding and verified conformance.

ESPR DPP Service Provider certification scheme — delegated act in preparation

The Commission's delegated act establishing requirements and a certification scheme for DPP service providers is being prepared under ESPR Article 11. It has not been adopted and no adoption date is fixed. The Service Provider obligations on data residency, backup, retention, and audit are pre-implemented in our platform — designed to meet the anticipated requirements without claiming current certification.

Annex XIII v2 schema — comment period open

The DIN DKE SPEC 99100 / Annex XIII v2 draft closed for industry comment in July 2026. The W34 platform schema (74 properties, EV/Industrial/LMT) tracks the v2 draft. Schema versioning is automatic — no operator migration required when v2 is finalised.

REGULATORY UPDATE2026-01-26 · 10:15 UTC

Carbon footprint declaration — Article 7(1) intensity unit clarification

Commission has clarified that the carbon footprint declaration under Article 7(1) of EU 2023/1542 must be declared as INTENSITY (kg CO₂e / kWh) rather than absolute total. EU Digital Passport Processor enforces this distinction in the platform schema; activation is blocked for EV / Industrial passports until intensity is declared.

GS1 Digital Link 1.7 — resolver path canonical form

GS1 has clarified the canonical form for Digital Link resolver paths: /01/{gtin}/21/{passport_number}. EU Digital Passport Processor's resolver matches this form. Operators printing QR codes can verify their labels by scanning to the platform's public viewer at sub-1-second response.
