01 — EU Digital Passport Processor Backup

Independent backup hosting, built for the obligation.

Under EU Battery Regulation 2023/1542, economic operators are expected to maintain an independent backup of their passport data. Our Backup service provides this as a standalone product — operated on infrastructure designed to meet the expected requirements of the anticipated DPP Service Provider certification scheme.

Independent provider · scheme not yet adopted
Honest framing — certification status

EU Digital Passport Processor Backup is operated as an independent backup service, designed to meet the expected requirements of the anticipated ESPR DPP Service Provider certification scheme. The certification scheme has not yet been adopted by the Commission.

02 — Two ways to use Backup

Bundled for operators. Standalone for self-hosters.

If you already use the platform, backup is included in your annual fee. If you run your own DPP infrastructure, push your passport data to us via REST API — your primary system stays untouched, we hold the independent copy.

Bundled in platform fee

Existing operators

Your passport data is already in our Supabase. Backup hosting is a contractual guarantee that a separate encrypted copy is held independently of the primary instance — at no additional charge.

  • Daily encrypted database snapshot
  • 10-year retention · battery lifetime
  • On-demand JSON data export
  • Proof of backup obligation compliance
  • Last-backup timestamp in your dashboard
Activate in your dashboard
Standalone API

Self-hosting operators

Running your own DPP infrastructure? Push your passport data to us via REST API. Your primary system is unchanged — we hold the independent backup copy of what you push, with the same retention and SLA as bundled customers.

  • POST /api/v1/backup/passports
  • API key authentication · scoped
  • Single passport or batch push
  • Dashboard shows count + last received
  • Same pricing as platform-fee operators

03 — How the backup works

Daily snapshots. Ten-year retention. Restore on demand.

Operational reality of the backup service from the day you activate to the day you need to restore. Specific SLA commitments for restore time are detailed in your Backup Hosting agreement.

  1. 01

    Daily encrypted snapshot

Every day at 03:00 UTC, a complete encrypted snapshot of your passport data — and all linked records (supply chain actors, documents, carbon footprint declarations) — is exported to Dropbox. Encrypted at rest. 10-year retention.

  2. 02

    Last-backup timestamp

Your dashboard shows the exact time of the last successful backup. If a backup fails, the timestamp will not update — giving you immediate visibility. You will not be billed for a period in which backup was not performed.

  3. 03

    On-demand export

Request a data export at any time from your Backup dashboard. The export is generated in JSON (full Annex XIII structure) and delivered to you by email as a download link. The link expires after 7 days. No limit on number of exports.

  4. 04

    Restore procedure

If you need to restore data — accidental deletion, system migration, regulatory audit — contact support@eudigitalpassportprocessor.com. We initiate the restore procedure. Restore SLA is documented in the Backup Hosting agreement provided at activation.

04 — Pricing

Bundled for operators. Tiered for self-hosters.

Existing platform-fee operators get backup hosting at no additional charge. Self-hosters subscribe directly. Tier prices and full breakdown live on the pricing page.

05 — Time-anchored decision

Start building your backup record today.

The regulatory framework will require a third-party backup provider by approximately 2028. Operators who start now avoid a last-minute migration when the certification scheme is adopted by the Commission.
